KPOV Celebrates our Third Birthday |
|
June 28th was KPOV's long awaited and successfully celebrated Hootenanny (aka KPOV's third birthday). The KPOV studios, as well as areas surrounding the station's home of 501 NW Bond, were abundant with people. Food was provided by by Fireside Red, Scanlon’s, Sparrow Bakery, Petits Sweets, and Kebaba; iced tea was provided (in the middle of the 100 degree day!) by Townsend’s Teahouse. All sorts of activities were enjoyed. Thank you to all who came out to celebrate this wonderful day with us and we hope you had a fantastic time!
Activities included an exciting contra dance with music provided by Fresh Rosin and local caller Ron Bell-Roemer, a delicious cake walk, an art bus provided by Linda Spring's Mobile Art Gallery to house all the beautiful works composed by KPOV DJs and volunteers. There was poetry by Avatierre, planting a community garden (generously sponsored by Cascade Garden Market and Dave Evans and Associates, compost from Fields Farm)! Fireflyte entertained with stilts and juggling and Hoopdazzle led a hooping workshop Of course the Hootenanny couldn't have been possible without the help of these fine contributors: Fresh Rosin, Ron Bellroemer, Linda Spring, Avatierre, Cascade Garden Market, Dave Evans and Associates, Fields Farm, The Oregon Natural Desert Association, Nature of Words, Fireside Red, Scanlon’s, Sparrow Bakery, Petits Sweets, Kebaba, Townsend’s Teahouse, Fireflyte, Hoopdazzle, John Glass, C3 Productions, The Des Chutes Historical Center Museum, Bend-LaPine School District, Charles Engel, and the Source. Thank you to everyone who attended!
