The new Pine Mountain site for the transmitter, approved by the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will ensure even better

updated 6/08 The FCC has awarded KPOV a full power construction permit! On October 22, 2007, 106.7 KPOV filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a construction permit to build a full power, non-commercial, educational radio station serving Bend and other nearby communities in Central Oregon on 88.9fm. Approximately 3400 other organizations across the country also applied for full power permits. On June 9, 2008, the FCC granted KPOV a three-year construction permit. Approximately 250 of the over 3,400 applicants last fall have received actual permits to-date and KPOV is one of the first low-power fm stations to receive its permit. 106.7 KPOV, Bend Community Radio, has been awarded a $112,000
federal matching grant for the station’s expansion from low power to
full power broadcasting in 2011, and has received approval for a new
transmitter location that will better serve the region.
